How to Log In — Client Portal vs cPanel

What each login is for

Client Portal Client Portal (Billing/Support): pay invoices, update payment method, open tickets, upgrade/downgrade plans.

cPanel cPanel (Hosting): manage files, databases, email accounts, backups, PHP versions, and WordPress (WP Toolkit).

First-time login

  1. Set your Client Portal password: go to your Portal login page and click Forgot Password to create/reset it.
  2. One-click into cPanel: in the Portal, open Services → My Services → [Your Hosting] → Login to cPanel.
  3. (Optional) Bookmark your direct cPanel URL for later.

 

Where to log in

  • Client Portal (Billing/Support): https://secure.gaugehosting.com/clientarea.php
  • cPanel (Hosting): e.g. https://yourdomain.com:2083 or https://server.yourhost.com/cpanel.

 

Enable Two-Factor Authentication (recommended)

2FA Client Portal: Account/Profile → Security/Two-Factor.
2FA cPanel: Security → Two-Factor Authentication.

 

Use single sign-on (SSO) from the Portal

SSO From the Portal service page, click Login to cPanel. If a direct cPanel password hasn’t been set or is forgotten, SSO still works.

 

Troubleshoot common login issues

  • Reset Forgot password? Use Forgot Password on the Portal. For cPanel, try Portal SSO first; if needed, reset the cPanel password via the service page.
  • 2FA 2FA device changed? Open a ticket to verify identity and re-sync or disable temporarily.
  • SSO button not working? Clear cookies, try another browser, or use the Portal’s “Login to cPanel” from the product page instead of bookmarks.
